Michael Khuth (b. 1998—he/him, they/them) is a queer, Khmer-American lens-based artist and independent curator. Khuth approaches collage as a visual language to articulate, explore, complicate, and reflect on queer identity and the process of becoming. Their practices understand photographs as constantly evolving objects with the potential to acquire new and queer meanings; no image is set in stone, but set free. As a curator he hopes to create frameworks and spaces that cherish innovation and allow artists to recognize new possibilities/entrypoints into their practices. He thanks his mom for his first camera.
